As we continue down the Beat & Path we find ourselves in an open field of musical cotton notes ready for the picking. Cotton Picker is the result a studio collaboration between Melbourne based DJ and producer Uone and veteran Sydney producer Nick West.
During 2016 Uone made the trip up to Sydney to work out of Nicks studio Smith & Western.
On one of those trips, the Cotton Picker track emerged. With this project, the focus was to deliver a raw analogue record with as many live recorded elements as possible. Firing up the synths the boys created a phat Moog voyager bass line which underpins the swirling melodic drama. The track Is also layered with lashings of low-slung Moroccan guitar hooks and a vocal that transports you to the cotton fields of the Mississippi.

On remix duties, long time friend of Uone, Oliver delivers an unexpected disco twist whilst paying homage to the roots of the original.
