Following on from his debut EP, 'Breathing Fire' on Beat & Path we welcome back The Oddness for his second EP Momentum. The last 6 months has seen this artist making waves across the world with his signature slow-burning downtempo electronica sounds infused with dub and world music all laced with his characteristic chugging basslines. With recent releases and remixes on Pipe & Pocket, Shango Records and Hidden Vibes, we are proud to present one original plus two remixes from Jamie Stevens.
The original takes us on almost space-rock rollercoaster ride through organic chants and a deep, surging bassline. Following on from his debut 'Weigh Up' EP on Beat & Path, Jamie steps up the plate and delivers two outstanding remixes, the first being the 'In Excess' remix that touches on his early roots from the 3 piece live electronic group Infusion. Mechanical, almost machine-like style percussion is laid over a bass groove, all laced with an infectious 1980s INXS-style snare hit. On the second version, Jamie takes the listener on drummer's dream ride with carefully programmed drums, shakers, tambourines and hats.
