Uone and Namito's Collaboration Results in Psychedelic Saloon Sound with Latest Release 'Kakadu'.
The first Beat and Path release of 2022 sees label boss Uone teaming up with Namito, an Iranian-born producer, visual artist and DJ residing in Berlin. With a hefty pile of credits on industry giants like Kompakt, Bedrock, Sol Seletcas, Bar25 Music and Global Underground, Namito brings twenty five years experience to this collaboration. The result is a natural meeting of West and East: that psychedelic saloon sound for which Uone is so well known easily intertwines itself with Namito's esoteric synth journeyings.
'Kakadu' is a seven-minute odyssey in which Uone's ceremonial drums stomp their way above an immense Moog bassline from Namito. Uone's otherworldly vocals (heavily processed in a way that's faintly reminiscent of Involver vol. 1), guide the track into a shimmering breakdown at 3:20, where stroboscopic pads accompany bright, echoing piano chords. The ensuing drop is weighty and cathartic, its chunky groove striding confidently into the night while a spoken word vocal conjures up images of the mystical oasis 'Kakadu' in northern Australia. This is the perfect track for signalling a rising mid-set energy change; a hefty, stomping piece that belongs in every outdoor space or ceremony.
